The Lenovo Legion 5i Pro is the latest gaming laptop from the company. It features a design that’s not only stylish but also very powerful, thanks to its 7th-generation Intel Core i7 processor and GeForce GTX 1050 Ti graphics card. We have been able to get our hands on the demo unit and have put it through some tests so that we can give you an honest review of it. Here are all our findings:
Design
The design of the Lenovo Legion 5i Pro is very similar to its predecessor, but with some improvements. It has a plastic body and is not very thin, but it’s still lightweight and easy to carry around.
The laptop comes in three different colors: black, blue and red. I prefer the dark grey version because it looks more elegant than any other color on my desk! The finish feels high quality and smoothes under your fingers when you hold or touch it (or if you accidentally drop it).
The laptop weighs about 2.4 pounds, which is not too heavy for a 15-inch device. It’s also thin, measuring 0.8 inches in thickness at its thickest point. The screen is an IPS panel with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and it’s not great. It doesn’t have the best contrast ratio and colors are washed out, so if you’re looking for something that offers better picture quality then we suggest going with another laptop instead because this one isn’t ideal..
Performance
The Lenovo Legion 5i Pro is a gaming laptop that comes with a powerful processor and graphics card, but what about the RAM? Well, it’s not as good as you might think.
For starters, the device has 16GB of DDR4 RAM inside and there are two versions of this model available: one with 8GB or 16GB of memory. The latter version costs almost twice as much compared to its cheaper sibling since it has twice as much storage space (256GB vs 128GB in total).
If you want better performance then we suggest choosing an SSD because they are faster than regular hard drives when dealing with heavy loads or streaming videos online at high speeds (and also save money over time).

However, if you want something with a solid feel to it that won’t let you down when playing games, this is definitely a good option.
Display
The display on the Legion 5i Pro is 15.6 inches, with a full HD resolution of 1920×1080 pixels and a 144Hz refresh rate. It also comes with NVIDIA G-Sync technology for smooth gameplay, as well as 100% sRGB color gamut for accurate colors.
The laptop’s display has a 1:1 contrast ratio (1 million:1), which means that it can display images at exactly the same level of brightness regardless of their original settings or content within them — perfect for watching videos or playing games on your own terms!
The processor is another area that could be improved. It’s an i7-8750H CPU, which is one of Intel’s latest and most powerful mobile chipsets. However, it’s still a sixth-generation processor and not quite as capable as the newer eighth-generation CPUs on the market today (which also offer better efficiency with less power consumption).
The touchpad is large and responsive. I had no issues moving the cursor around on my screen or using gestures to navigate through applications. The Legion 5i Pro has a strong and sturdy build, with a soft-touch finish that feels great in your hands. Heat management
The cooling system is good, but not exceptional. The Legion 5i Pro gets fairly warm while gaming in comparison to other laptops on the market. However, it never overheats or throttles like some other gaming laptops do when you start running demanding games at high settings.
The Legion 5i Pro’s thermal management system allows for better heat dissipation than most laptops in its class; however, this can lead to some excess noise if you’re playing on your lap or laying down with your laptop open like most people do when they want something quiet and portable (and no one wants their gaming gear making noise).

It also has an HDMI 2.0 port and an RJ45 LAN Jack for wired connectivity—perfect if you want to power the laptop from a separate source or connect it directly to your networked router (which we recommend).

The laptop has two fans that allow it to run smoothly even during stressful tasks such as gaming or working on complex programs. The Legion 5i Pro has two cooling fans inside of it, but only one is used for gaming. The other fan is only used when the laptop is plugged in and charging to help cool down the battery. This means that you won’t hear much noise while your laptop is on battery power unless you’re playing demanding games like Assassin’s Creed Odyssey or PUBG Mobile at high settings (which most people don’t do)The laptop also has built-in Wi-Fi 802.11ac and Bluetooth 4.2, which are perfect for wireless connectivity.
Keyboard and trackpad
The Legion 5i Pro keyboard is one of the best we’ve seen. It’s backlit and has a good travel distance, with a smooth action that makes typing feel almost effortless. We also like that it has dedicated keys for volume control, which can be handy if you want to adjust your audio without having to reach all the way over to the right side of your laptop.
The trackpad is large and comfortable to use—it even has a fingerprint sensor on top!
The Lenovo Legion 5i Pro comes with a 76WH battery which is capable of providing up to 10 hours of continuous use. It has a fast charging option that allows you to charge the laptop in just under 2 hours from 0% to 100%!
Audio
The audio quality is good, with a surprisingly loud and clear sound. The laptop features two built-in speakers that are loud enough to fill a small room with sound, but they don’t have any bass to them. This can be remedied with the addition of headphones or external speakers if you want a more immersive experience from your gaming laptop.
The headphone jack is located on top of the keyboard so it’s easy to plug in and remove when you need to use headphones—a feature that I really appreciate because I always end up forgetting my headphones at home when using this type of device!

Camera and microphone quality
The camera on the Legion 5i Pro is not bad. It’s decent enough to take photos and share them with your friends, but it doesn’t have the best night vision or zoom capabilities. If you’re looking for a gaming laptop with a camera that will help capture footage of your next Livestream or YouTube video, this isn’t your best option.
The microphone quality on this machine is also okay; it works well for voice calls and listening to music without distortion on loud sounds like gunshots or explosions—but don’t expect much in terms of clear sound quality when recording videos or singing along with songs from your favorite artists (the microphone only has one side).

Conclusion
Lenovo Legion 5i Pro looks great and is a powerful gaming laptop. The design and build quality are excellent, with a few minor issues that could be fixed easily in future iterations. However, it lacks some features we’d like to see on newer models, namely a more durable trackpad and backlit keyboard. All other aspects of this machine are top-notch (battery life, performance).
